Lollapalooza rep says Chappell Roan attracted the "biggest daytime set we’ve ever seen"

Following viral pictures of the crowd who turned up to her 5pm main stage performance at Lollapalooza in Chicago’s Grant Park, one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "somebody behind me in the crowd during chappell’s set said they’ve been coming to lollapalooza for 18 years and have never seen a crowd that large at 5pm before……….yeah she definitely deserved/needed that main stage treatment".

Now a rep for the festival has confirmed that Chappell Roan's crowd was history making. “Chappell’s performance was the biggest daytime set we’ve ever seen. It was a magical moment added to Lolla’s DNA,” a spokesperson for Lollapalooza told CNN. Two sources close to the singer and the festival told CNN that the crowd rivaled many headliners and is believed to be Lollapalooza’s biggest set of all time, anywhere in the world.

It's not possible to know the exact amount of people who attended her performance, but 110,000 concertgoers were at Grant Park each day of the festival. Chappell Roan was initially supposed to play on a smaller stage at Lollapalooza, but she was moved to the main stage, swapping set times with Kesha, a representative for Lollapalooza told CNN.
