Lorenzo Senni is back. The electronic producer has announced his first new album in six years, All Ages, set for release on Warp next month. It features Xiu Xiu's Jamie Stewart on one track, and on the opener, Senni brings in two of the biggest names in American skateboarding.
"Art Life & Skateboarding," which doubles as the new album's lead single, sets an urgent, dramatic trance beat to spoken passages from Chad Muska and Jamie Thomas. Senni purposefully selected those two skaters in particular to feature — Muska, once known as a party animal, and Thomas, who is straightedge. "They have opposite characteristics within something I love, skateboarding," Senni says. "It makes for a beautiful encounter."
