Macklemore Fan Wanted in Slovakia Arrested After Joining Him Onstage

Macklemore performed a set at Slovakia’s Lovestream festival last weekend, and he was joined by a fan onstage who sang a song with the rapper. Little did he know that the woman was actually wanted by the Slovakian police, and she was promptly arrested following the performance.

The Slovakian Police Department posted a summary of the incident to their Facebook page on Monday, August 19th. The woman joined Macklemore onstage and posted about it on social media; an attendee at the festival saw the performance and the post, and recognized her from a “wanted” photo posted to the cops’ website tracking police reports and wanted criminals. The attendee then alerted the police, who waited until the woman was offstage to escort her off the premises in handcuffs. See their post below.

It’s unknown exactly what the woman was charged for, but local reports described her as a 24-year-old bartender who has been avoiding paying a fine for running shirtless during a 2019 football match in Slovakia while working as staff. The Slovakian Police’s page claims that the woman “forgot” she was on the police’s radar, but maybe she was just taking Macklemore’s party-hard anthem “Can’t Hold Us” a little too seriously.

Macklemore has a few more international dates left on his 2024 docket, as well as a hometown show at Seattle’s S. Mark Taper Auditorium in November. Get tickets here, but be warned — if you’re wanted for criminal activity and Macklemore invites you to join him onstage, you should probably say no.
