She is the most nominated artist this year thanks to her new album ‘Confessions II’, where she’s received eleven nods for Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and more. Madonna’s debut VMAs appearance was at the award’s inaugural edition in 1984, where she made pop culture history with her ‘Like A Virgin’ performance. She would also bring her iconic 18th-century palatial French vision of her smash hit ‘Vogue’ to the ceremony in 1990. The last time Madonna performed was in 2003, where she made headlines again – this time, for kissing Britney Spears.
