Sony’s on-again, off-again movie adaptation of the Metal Gear Solid video game franchise is officially in the works, with Final Destination: Bloodlines directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein helming the project.
Creator Hideo Kojima first announced that a film about his groundbreaking stealth series was being developed in 2006, with actors including Viggo Mortensen and Hugh Jackman being considered to play protagonist Solid Snake early on. More recently, it was announced in 2020 that Oscar Isaac had officially been cast in the role, but it’s unclear whether he is still attached to the project.
