minijoy Celebrates Love, Culture, and Connection on Debut Album ‘love me’

1 week ago 16

minijoy’s debut album, love me, unites house music and Korean influences in a vibrant collection of tracks that offers a joyful listening experience.

Rising house artist minijoy has always believed that music transcends borders. After beginning her musical journey as a rapper in Seoul, she discovered electronic music when she moved abroad and began learning to DJ in New York, where she built lasting creative connections. For her, every chapter of her journey has shaped the artist she is today. Now based in Los Angeles, minijoy has found the confidence to develop a sound uniquely her own, channeling her cross-cultural experiences into vibrant house productions that celebrate joy and self-expression

minijoy’s debut album, love me, embodies that philosophy wholeheartedly. Across eight tracks, the project explores the power of self-love and the universal connection that unites us, featuring collaborating artists who complement her vibrant, genre-blurring sound. Teaming up with JUNGL$ on “Show me what you love,” the track opens with dazzling synths and shimmering vocals, which repeatedly echo the word “love” to reinforce the album’s central message. Meanwhile, “KISS” arrives with an energetic, bouncy introduction, paired with cyber-inspired textures that capture a euphoric spirit.

As the album unfolds, it becomes clear that minijoy draws deeply from the diverse influences that have shaped her artistic identity. She partners with Thékho on “Where am I,” a song that leans into breezy house grooves and an airy atmosphere, while subtly incorporating elements of R&B and hip-hop. Sung in Korean, the lyrics add warmth and personality to the track. Carrying that same radiance into songs like “(Whisper) I love you.” and “When I see your eyes…,” she continues to weave in heartfelt lyrics that reflect her experiences between East and West, creating music that feels personal and universally resonant.

On “Call me,” she joins forces with Thékho, NOAH, and JUNGL$, whose effortless chemistry shines throughout the track. Rap-infused verses inject the song with bold energy before giving way to a feel-good groove. That momentum carries into “BAE (Before Anyone Else),” where NUNU links up with minijoy for a playful, light-hearted collaboration that embraces the album’s uplifting mood.

Finally, the title track serves as the album’s emotional centerpiece, bringing its message full circle. Opening with bright synths and shimmering vocals layered with Korean lyrics, the track captures the unique intersection of K-Pop influences and dance music that defines minijoy’s sound. By the album’s conclusion, love me feels more than a collection of house tracks. It transforms minijoy’s personal experiences into a universal message of connection and unity, highlighting the ways people can come together across cultures and backgrounds.
