NASA just dropped the official “Wake-Up Songs” playlist for the Artemis II crew, featuring the songs played to wake the astronauts on each day of the flight so far. Starting with “Sleepyhead” by Young & Sick on day one, highlights include Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” and Queen and David Bowie’s “Under Pressure.”
Other notable tracks picked by the crew include Glass Animals and Denzel Curry’s “Tokyo Drifting” and CeeLo Green’s “Working Class Hero (Work).” According to NASA’s Instagram, each track in their wake-up playlist was handpicked, continuing a tradition that started over 50 years ago. With two days still to go on the 10‑day mission, there will be more songs to come.
The playlist has served as a spirited soundtrack for the crew as they race through the vacuum of space on their history-making mission. Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen have accomplished a major milestone with the first crewed flight toward the Moon since 1972.
Curry was especially hyped after finding out “Tokyo Drifting” made it into the playlist. “To infinity and beyond, muthafucka,” he celebrated on X/Twitter. He also claims to be the “first rapper played in space,” but that could not be independently verified. Regardless, Curry is clearly embracing his intergalactic moment.
