Nick Cannon has shared an update on his ex-wife Mariah Carey‘s well-being after the deaths of her mother and sister last month.
In late August, the singer-songwriter revealed in a heartbreaking statement that her mother and sister had died just hours within each other in a “tragic turn of events” on August 26. No cause of death was shared, and the singer requested her privacy at the time.

Now, Cannon has revealed how Mariah’s been doing in an interview with Page Six: “She’s doing the best that she possibly can, considering the circumstances. But as a family, we just got to be there to support one another, show love.”
He then added that she’s been spending a lot of time with the twins they share, Moroccan and Monroe: “She’s really having a great time with the kids. That is, you know, the most important thing in the world to her, so it’s outstanding to see them supporting their mom the way they do.”
Announcing the news of her mother’s and sister’s death last month, Carey said in a statement: “My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day. I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed. I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time.”
Carey’s mother Patricia died aged 87, while her sister Alison was 63.

Last week, the singer has shared a brief update on her situation, confirming that she’s rehearsing for a number of shows in China and Brazil soon. In a video, she captioned: “Back at work. It’s been a couple of rough weeks, but I appreciate everyone’s love and support so much and I can’t wait to see my fans in China & Brazil. Love you!”
The deaths of Patricia and Alison Carey came less than a month after fans expressed their concerns for the singer after she was seen “crying” during an “uncomfortable” live performance.
While performing as part of her residency, called The Celebration of Mimi, at Las Vegas’ Dolby Live – the popstar appeared to get emotional on stage while singing her 1991 hit ‘Make It Happen’. Fans have since suggested that Mariah take a break to take care of her mental well-being.
