Oasis Announce Two Extra London Shows with Invite-Only Ballot Ticket Sale Strategy

2 weeks ago 23

Oasis have added two more shows at London’s Wembley Stadium to their “Oasis Live ’25” reunion tour, set for September 27th and 28th, 2025.

The new shows arrive after a messy whirlwind of ticket sales for the initial first leg of Oasis’ comeback tour. When tickets went on-sale for Oasis’ first shows back in over 15 years on Saturday, August 31st, thousands of fans had disastrous experiences with Ticketmaster. Many were waiting in the online queue for several hours before Ticketmaster crashed on them, and the platform’s surge-pricing policy drove up prices to be three to four times the face value of standard tickets.

While many fans, against all odds, did get tickets to see Oasis, there’s been a fair amount of disappointment from those who missed out due to Ticketmaster’s deficiencies. Even the UK government is mad — British politician and Labour Party MP Zarah Sultana lamented the queue-to-crash failure on Twitter, while the UK’s culture department has pledged to investigate the legality of Ticketmaster’s “dynamic pricing” feature.

Now, Oasis have tacked on these last two Wembley shows to their itinerary, likely as an effort to give fans who missed out another chance at securing tickets. “Tickets will be sold by a staggered, invitation-only ballot process,” reads the band’s official statement regarding the new shows. “Applications to join the ballot will be opened first to the many UK fans who were unsuccessful in the initial on sale with Ticketmaster.”

The sale date for tickets to the new Wembley shows is still unknown, but will be announced soon alongside the opening of ticket registration ballots. The new ballot system mirrors what Oasis had attempted for their pre-sale last week — fans were required to register for a pre-sale lottery, and it’s estimated that only 2.3% of fans who signed up received a purchase code. However, as the band ensures, the ballot will now be aimed towards prospective attendees who weren’t able to secure tickets the first time around.

“Inevitably interest in this tour is so overwhelming that it’s impossible to schedule enough shows to fulfill public demand,” says the band’s statement. “But this ticket sale strategy will make the process far smoother for fans by reducing the stress and time it takes to obtain one of the hottest tickets of our time.”

The band’s statement also offers an explanation for why dynamic pricing occurred during the on-sale period: “It needs to be made clear that Oasis leave decisions on ticketing and pricing entirely to their promoters and management, and at no time had any awareness that dynamic pricing was going to be used,” the statement reads.

“While prior meetings between promoters, Ticketmaster and the band’s management resulted in a positive ticket sale strategy, which would be a fair experience for fans, including dynamic ticketing to help keep general ticket prices down as well as reduce touting, the execution of the plan failed to meet expectations. All parties involved did their utmost to deliver the best possible fan experience, but due to the unprecedented demand this became impossible to achieve.”
