Earlier this month, Omni's Philip Frobos returned with covers of Sorry and Jane Birkin. Now, the Atlanta post-punk artist is announcing his sophomore solo album Taste For The Unsavory, the followup to his 2021 debut Vague Enough To Satisfy. The new song "The Handoff" is out now and features Gustaf's Lydia Gammill."The Handoff," naturally, has him and Gammill handing off verses to each other. "I imagined this track as if a pulp noir tale were told in a Madchester meets Athens, GA style," Frobos says. "I enjoyed imagining anonymity in Rome, Buenos Aires, and Mexico City. What kind of occupation could the two singers hold?"Taste For The Unsavory was made with co-producer Rodrigo Avendaño (Soccer Mommy) and arrives early next year. Other contributors include Mastodon's Bill Kelliher and Preoccupations' Matthew Flegel. The artwork is by his Omni bandmate Frankie Broyles and the record comes with a cocktail zine of original drinks and pastel drawings of each cocktail by his wife, Emily Frobos.
