Orville Peck Says He Made Out With an Oakland Raiders Player

Orville Peck apparently made some off-field contact with the Raiders — by way of a kiss. On the song “Ring the Bell” off his new album, Mule, the masked country singer casually reveals that he once “made out with a guy on the Raiders.” Speaking with Variety, Peck confirmed the lyric refers to an actual player and said he cleared the reference with him before putting it on the record. “I did receive permission to sing that lyric from the subject in question, and he was very thrilled,” Peck said. He also stressed that he wouldn’t have included the encounter if doing so risked outing someone who wanted to keep their sexuality private.
