For the new version, Ella has rewritten the second verse, transforming the song from singer Max Newbold’s one-sided account of a relationship falling apart into a conversation between two different perspectives. Her contribution serves as a counterpoint to Newbold’s delivery, before the pair come together in harmony towards the end of the track. “Nieve is an artist that we’ve known and admired since starting out as a band,” Newbold said. “With both of us being from the Midlands, it’s been amazing to grow alongside each other and hit similar milestones together.” He continued: “When we had the idea of having a feature on an album track, Nieve was our immediate first choice.
