The Leeds band Pest Control makes and extremely mean, incredibly fun form of crossover thrash, bringing metal virtuosity and hardcore swagger to their berserker riffage. Last year, the band released their debut album Don’t Test The Pest, and it fucking ruled. After that, they dropped the singles “Enjoy The Show” and “Time Bomb,” and both of them were great, too. Now, Pest Control have a new EP called Year Of The Pest ready to go, and it’ll drop next week.
Year Of The Pest has four songs, and one of those songs is “Time Bomb,” which is emphatically not a Rancid or Dismemberment Plan cover. (I’m starting to realize that I will probably automatically like any song called “Time Bomb.”) Pest Control just shared the EP’s absolutely riotous title track, and it might be their best song yet. If you like that cover art, you will probably like the song, too. These giant vermin know what they’re doing. Check out “Year Of The Pest” and the EP’s tracklist below.
