Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs have shared their new lumbering single ‘Detroit’ and have announced a 2025 UK and European tour.
The single opens with a pounding drum beat paired with an eerie guitar while frontman Matthew Baty booms out the lyrics: “I sit by my telephone / listen to them groaning through the walls / From the ceiling a rhythmic thrust / I give my girl a call / I give her my worst.”
Speaking about the song in a press release, Baty said: “‘Detroit’ reflects on the worst manifestations of male jealousy and resentment, and the ways in which a lack of accountability can lead to deflecting responsibility in exchange for blaming external forces like fate or God for perceived injustice”.
The track’s accompanying visualiser is comprised of black and white footage of the band performing with the song’s lyrics typed in salmon-pink lettering.
‘Detroit’ marks the band’s first new music since their 2023 LP ‘Land Of Sleeper’. All proceeds generated by the track will be donated by the band to domestic abuse charities ahead of their tour next year.
Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs, Pigs will also be making their way across the UK and Europe early next spring. Baty and co will kick off their run of shows at Chalk in Brighton on April 3 2025. From there, they will make stops in London, Bristol, Nottingham, Manchester and more before wrapping up their UK leg at St Luke’s in Glasgow on April 13.
The following month, the band will make their way to Europe starting with a show at Paris’ La Maroquinerie on May 17. From there, they will make stops in Cologne, Munich and more before wrapping up at Hamburg’s Knust on May 28. Check out a full list of tour dates below and visit here to purchase tickets.
