PISS announce debut album, you made me / skin on linen

After months of developing a striking live presence and releasing a collection of demos on Bandcamp titled three demos in 2024, PISS will be releasing their first full collection of songs, combining punk, poetry, sound collage, performance art, and visual art that shifts between personal and political. Lead single "time loop at hot slit" is a noise-punk track which explores of girlhood in a culture of sexualisation. The video was co-directed by vocalist Taylor Zantingh and Vivyen Sagsen at the now-closed DIY space Take Yr Time Back in Vancouver. "Some of the people with whom I shared the earliest version of this song take the stage to sing it themselves," Zantingh says. "No matter where it ends up, it will always belong to the femmes, queers, and weirdos in the Vancouver underground community." The songs on the album chronicle a childhood affected by structural, systemic and intimate violence, with the band using art to examine how we carry the effects of this violence, considering how violence affects development and how wounds are carried over time.
