Pivot Gang – “Location”

Last year, the tremendously gifted Chicago rapper Saba finally released From The Private Collection Of Saba And No ID, his long-awaited full-length collaboration with the OG Chicago producer No ID. Now, Saba is back to making music with Pivot Gang, the tight-knit group of friends who he's been with since he first arrived on our radar.

Pivot Gang's new single "Location" is their first group effort since the 2024 single "Who At The Door." It's a lush, hazy, melodic posse cut. Crew member daedaePIVOT co-produced the track with Ben Nartey, and it's got Saba, MFnMelo, Joseph Chilliams, and Frsh Waters trading off playful lines without ever giving the impression that they're competing with each other — except in the ultra-casual JLEAN-directed video, where they all hang out in a basement and clearly want to prove their superiority at poker, pool, Uno, etc. Saba describes it as their version of a "That '70s Show-style cypher." Check it out below.

Pivot Gang just announced their annual John Walt Day concert, in honor of the crew member who was murdered in 2017. This year's edition goes down 12/19 at Thalia Hall; get tickets here.
