Dwarves have announced their 17th studio album, titled JENKEM, set to arrive June 6th via Greedy Records.
In support of the upcoming record, the veteran punk band will embark on US tours in the spring and fall, including dates with Screeching Weasels, Prong, and the Exploited, as well as a run of European dates for the summer.
Tickets to select shows are available via Ticketmaster, with other dates available via local venue links at the band’s official website.
These shows see the seminal punk and metal outfit kicking off the first US run in Portland, Oregon, on May 21st, and ending on June 24th in San Francisco, before heading to Europe from June 17th to July 18th. Their second US jaunt runs from September 4th in Philadelphia to September 20th in Sacramento, California.
The band is known for their provocateurism, including a number of fights at their shows over the years involving the band themselves and their guitarist often playing either totally in the nude or simply a jockstrap. Dwarves, who have been active in the punk world since 1985, are often compared to G. G. Allin regarding their overall image and ethos.
The band has promised a series of live and animated videos as well as limited edition 7″s in support of the new record.
Given Dwarves’ tendency toward pranks and hoaxes, including once promoting the hoax in 1993 that their guitarist had been stabbed to death despite his continued good health, it is always an exciting gamble to see how much winds up being true.
