It follows recent tracks ‘Insignificant Other’ and ‘Easy Street’. ‘Where The Goth Girls At?’ pairs minimalist riffs with an explosive chorus, amplified by some rich string and horn arrangements. Homme drew inspiration for the nostalgic track from his youth in a Palm Desert suburb, and reflects on themes of teen romance and the desire to impress others. “Watching the goth girls working the counter at JCPenney and giving goth makeovers to the old ladies, that’s when I knew the only place I want to be is where the goth girls at,” explained the frontman. “Teenage love, ain’t it grand?” The chaotic and bizarre accompanying music video finds Queens reunited with ‘Easy Street’ video directors Christopher Gruse and Tony Wolski, and features comedian Steve Agee, dancer/artist Scarlett Kapella, singer/actress Lou Lou Safran.
