‘Reacher’ storyline about white supremacist cancelled after Trump re-elected, claims Alan Ritchson

Reacher star Alan Ritchson has claimed that a white supremacist storyline for the show was scrapped after Donald Trump was re-elected. The Amazon Prime Video series is based on Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels, and features Ritchson as the central character. In a recent social media interaction with a fan, Ritchson said that they had attempted to adapt Die Trying, the 1998 book in the series, “where he kills his way through a white supremacist militia camp”. Writing on Threads, the actor alluded to Trump’s 2024 presidential victory as he said: “My favourite book. Fun fact: I had it approved until someone got re-elected.” Last year, the actor – who is a Christian – opened up about the criticism that puzzles him, telling GQ: “People have this weird relationship with fictional characters, and sort of equate that to the real human being. “I don’t have that problem, making that distinction.
