The third edition of R² Festival is set to feature performances from 6EJOU, Chris Liebing, Kiki Solvej, and more, along with a new 3D live show from Reinier Zonneveld.
When looking at the current techno landscape, there’s no doubt that Reinier Zonneveld has stood tall among the masses. The Dutch DJ and producer has been at the forefront of bringing harder elements to the masses while fostering fresh talent on Filth on Acid, but he’s also carved out space for himself as an innovator. This has been showcased over the past few years at R² Festival, Zonneveld’s curated event that lets him showcase his latest projects as he blurs the line between technology and music.
This year’s edition of R² Festival is set to return to Spaarnwoude, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on August 15, and Reinier Zonneveld is gearing up for an experience that will take attendees on a ride into the future of techno.
At the core of this year’s R² Festival is Reinier Zonneveld’s newest 3D live show. Bolstered by the festival’s hexagonal stage, which features an integrated holographic visual system synchronized to the set, the display shows how music, technology, and visuals can be tied together for an immersive experience. Zonneveld continues to innovate in the electronic music space, and this show will be the first glimpse of his new project, which aims to protect and prioritize artists’ artistic control and rights in AI.
“We have been working on this for three years,” said Reinier Zonneveld. “R² is now a completely new show, built from the ground up and unlike anything we have done before. The hexagonal stage and the holographic 3D design were developed to give people an experience they can only have at this show. The audience doesn’t just hear new music, they are right in the middle of it.”
Aside from the new live show that Reinier Zonneveld has crafted for this festival, there are an additional seven stages littered with forward-thinking acts. This includes solo sets from the likes of 6EJOU, Bonnie Strange, Kiki Solvej, Secret Cinema, VE/RA, and Oliver Weither, along with back-to-back performances that include Chris Liebing with a mystery guest and Charly Lownoise with Mental Theo. More artists are slated to be announced in the coming weeks.
