ROSÉ and Bruno Mars took the stage to deliver a bright debut performance of their recent chart-topper, “APT.,” at this year’s MAMA Awards. Watch the energetic clip below.
Dressed in coordinated suits, the two worked through the playful choreography with the support of a live band at the annual awards show celebrating the best in K-pop each year. With 2024 marking his first year performing at the MAMA Awards, Bruno Mars also took home a trophy for himself — he and ROSÉ accepted a win together for the song in the category of Global Sensation.
“APT.” was inspired by a popular Korean drinking game, and the chanting chorus and accessible lyrics launched the track to No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the BLACKPINK member’s debut in the Top 10 of the chart.
“I wrote a song based on my favorite drinking game and I had no idea that it would be loved this much,” ROSÉ said onstage. “Thank you so much for all our love.” Mars then thanked the crowd in Korean.
Today, ROSÉ followed up “APT.” with a new single, “number one girl,” a comparatively tender and introspective release. Her debut solo album, rosie, is set to arrive in just a few short weeks on December 6th. Pre-orders are ongoing.
