RUSH drummer Anika Nilles has partnered with TAMA to produce a new signature snare. The instrument has been featured by Nilles as she tours with RUSH, providing the snare sound heard throughout their current “Fifty Something” reunion tour. Get RUSH Tickets Here The AN1465, which retails for $849.99 and is available via Reverb, includes a 1.2mm aluminum shell for its resonance and a 14″ diameter and 6.5″ depth for added low end. The shell features slight modifications to increase the strength of the aluminum, as well. The snare also features a newly-developed Mod-Tone Muffler, a togglable mute that also features a pressure dial for a wide range of possible sounds. Anika described the process of developing the snare in a video produced by TAMA, citing a full day testing over 50 different snares to identify traits to combine into the ideal signature instrument. RUSH are currently on their “Fifty Something” reunion tour, which has achieved universal acclaim, including high praise for Nilles in her position filling the shoes of the late Neil Peart. They recently added four additional cities to their run of dates across North America. Get tickets here. See Anike Nilles introduce her TAMA...
