Sam Akpro returns with new EP, Gauzy

Gauzy will be Akpro's first body of work since he released his debut album Evenfall last year. The announcement arrives alongside the title track, the second preview of the collection of songs following previous single "Dusty", and "Wayside" featuring TYSON. "'Gauzy' represents stepping into the unknown and dealing with the change that brings," Akpro says of the track. "When I made the instrumental, it felt very transitional — as if each section was a different part of a TV show. The lyrics kind of follow that. The whole project is reflective of the last year, which has been a rebuild of some sorts." Gauzy offers a glimpse into Akpro's creative world following Evenfall, capturing snapshots of South London with textures ranging from post-punk to dub with undertones of psychedelia. In celebration of the EP's release, Akpro will also play a special release show at The Greyhound in Peckham on Thursday, 29 October, with support from Riot and the Ether and a DJ set from Kieran Dotwav.
