1 month ago 8

Yesterday the metal world was taken completely by surprise when Acid Bath announced their first show since breaking up in 1997 for Sick New World 2025.

Now guitarist Sammy Duet is here to shed a little light on the Acid Bath reunion, noting that three-fifths of their original lineup will be playing the show. Acid Bath is rounded out by Duet's fellow Goatwhore member drummer Zach Simmons, and then Alex Begeron on bass

"Well hello everyone. I guess you've seen the news," said Duet in a video post. "Yes, Acid Bath is playing Sick New World. Yes, this is real. Yes, Dax Riggs is involved along with Mike Sanchez on second guitar. Currently it's Zach Simmons on drums and Alex Begeron on bass. But yes, too many questions from too many people. That's what you got. Love y'all."

Riggs also commented on the show, saying: "The Bath will return April 12, 2025 at Sick New World Festival. Our heads are literally EXPLODING! We'll be playing select songs from our two full length LPs for this special one time show. See you there fiends, let the blackness roll on….."

Acid Bath originally existed between 1991 and 1997. Acid Bath was Duet, Sanchez, and Riggs alongside founding bassist Audie Pitre who sadly died in 1997, and drummer Jimmy Kyle. Keyboardist Tomas Viator briefly joined in 1996, as did bassist Joseph Fontenot in 1997.

Acid Bath released two highly influential albums – When The Kite String Pops in 1994 and Paegan Terrorism Tactics in 1996.
