Sean “Diddy” Combs is countersuing Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones—a music producer who sued the rap mogul for sexual assault, grooming, and more in 2024—for allegedly stealing his private footage and selling it to Netflix. In a complaint filed on August 11 and obtained by Pitchfork, Combs also accuses Jones of making defamatory statements in the 50 Cent-produced documentary series Sean Combs: The Reckoning.Combs, who is serving a four-plus year prison sentence on charges of transporting to engage in prostitution, is seeking an undisclosed sum of damages from Jones. He also calls for Jones to return the footage and destroy any copies still in his possession. Pitchfork has emailed representatives for both parties for comment.Jones’ original suit alleged that he connected with Combs in 2022 and worked with him through 2023, contributing production to Combs’ The Love Album: Off the Grid.
