The ongoing mystery surrounding Sid Wilson’s status in Slipknot has been made murkier after he introduced himself as a current member of the band. During a recent appearance at the inaugural World Scratch Invitational this week, Wilson was introduced as a co-host for the event, and upon taking the mic, introduced himself as “No. 0, from the world famous Slipknot”, per Loudwire. It comes after a TMZ report in late July claimed that Wilson, the band’s longtime DJ and keyboardist, had been permanently kicked out of the band – although no official word has come from Slipknot as yet. Likewise, there’s been no word on what led to the alleged split, but the band’s guitarist, Jim Root, took to social media after news broke to urge fans to wait for more information. In a message shared to his Instagram Story, he said: “Don’t believe everything you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. “Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information.” The post, which didn’t mention Wilson by name, was soundtracked by Slipknot’s ‘Til We Die’.
