‘Silent Hill’ reboot movie in the works from ‘Resident Evil’ producer

The producer behind Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil movie is working on a Silent Hill revival. A sequel, which adapted Silent Hill 3, followed in 2013 and Return To Silent Hill came out earlier this year. All three movie adaptations have been panned by critics but have found a cult audience. At the start of 2026 Christophe Gans (who directed the first and third movie) told Variety he’d be up for working on a fourth Silent Hill movie and series composer Akira Yamaoka has said he wants Silent Hill 4: The Room to be adapted. However, according to a profile done by the Wall Street Journal, producer Roy Lee’s next project is a Silent Hill revival. Lee is behind A Minecraft Movie, The Ring, It: Welcome To Derry, The Lego Movie, Don’t Worry Darling and many more.
