Slipknot Reportedly Fire Sid Wilson

Slipknot have fired longtime band member Sid Wilson, according to TMZ. If confirmed, it would mark the end of a near-30 year run, as the turntablist joined the masked metal act in 1998. TMZ cited a source close to the band who said Wilson was notified on Friday afternoon (July 31st) that he was being permanently let go from Slipknot. Get Slipknot Albums on Vinyl However, following TMZ”s report, Slipknot guitarist Jim Root took to his Instagram Stories to write, “Don’t believe every thing you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information.” If Wilson is indeed no longer with Slipknot, he would be the latest classic member to be ousted from the band. Slipknot parted ways with percussionist Chris Fehn in 2019 and sampler-keyboardist Craig Jones in 2023, respectively. Prior to that, they let go of founding drummer Joey Jordison in 2013 (he later passed away in 2021). And tragically, founding bassist Paul Gray died in 2010 while he was still an active member of the band.
