Sondre Lerche Schools Us On The Pronunciation Of Norwegian Band Names

Last week I went to the Norwegian Consulate in Manhattan, where all Norwegian musicians live when they play Bowery Ballroom (someone fact check that), and I ran into Sondre Lerche, the Bergen-born singer-songwriter who just released a lovely new album called 'Acrobats' on PLZ/Virgin. He’s on tour in the US this month before heading home for a run of shows in Norway.Sondre was kind enough to teach me how to pronounce the names of some other Stereogum-beloved Norwegian artists I have apparently been saying wrong for many years. I even practiced saying [ˈsɔndrə ˈlærkə] before the interview and still got it wrong.
