Spirit Of Talk Talk Celebrates 40 Years Of The Colour Of Spring In London

Last night, at the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London, a bunch of musicians gathered to celebrate the late Mark Hollis and the 40th anniversary of The Colour Of Spring, the third studio from British new wave group Talk Talk. The Spirit Of Talk Talk event featured original band members Simon Brenner, Phil Ramocon, and Ian Curnow. With the help of several special guests, they performed most of the classic LP plus tracks from across the band’s catalog. The night opened with sets from Guillemots' Fyfe Dangerfield and English singer-songwriter Ed Harcourt. Both opening acts included covers of Talk Talk hits. Dangerfield performed "April 5th" from The Colour Of Spring. He also played three Guillemots tracks "Southern Winds," "Annie, Let's Not Wait," and "Dancing In The Devil's Shoes." Harcourt performed songs across his catalog with drummer Nick Allum. He also covered Talk Talk's "Mirror Man" from their debut album The Party's Over.For the main event, Harcourt and Dangerfield returned to the stage at different points to help out.
