Squeeze have cancelled one of their shows in Virginia and spoken out about how the decision was made due to the unexpected and “tragic” death of a crew member. The band were set to play in Vienna, Virginia last night (Thursday September 3), as part of their ongoing US tour with Adam Ant and Haircut 100. In a statement, Squeeze confirmed that the gig had been cancelled just hours before doors were set to open at the Wolf Trap National Park For The Performing Arts, as a worker had been killed in a “tragic event”. “Squeeze are deeply saddened and shocked by an incident that occurred at the venue earlier today, which resulted in the loss of a life,” they shared on their social media channels. “After discussions with the venue and the relevant authorities, the decision was made to cancel this evening’s performance.” Their post continued: “We will work with the promoter and venue regarding the possibility of rescheduling the show and will communicate further information to ticket holders as soon as it is available.
