‘Stranger Things’ actor Jamie Campbell Bower shoots down ‘Conformity Gate’ theory about secret final episode

Stranger Things star Jamie Campbell Bower has shot down a fan theory about a secret extra episode, also known as ‘Conformity Gate’. Following the conclusion of the Netflix show on New Year’s Eve last year, many viewers theorised that the show’s ending – in which Eleven’s (Millie Bobby Brown) fate was left ambiguous – wasn’t the true conclusion, and was an illusion created by villain Vecna (played by Bower). However, they were left disappointed when an extra episode didn’t materialise, and Bower denied the idea when asked about the craziest fan theory he has heard. “That there was gonna be another episode,” he told Entertainment Weekly at San Diego Comic-Con. “Everyone was like, ‘Conformity Gate, there’s gonna be a ninth episode.’ I was like, ‘If there is, I’m not in it!
