The video was directed by Jason Thibodeaux and Cynthia Star, both stop-motion veterans whose credits include Laika’s Coraline and ParaNorman, alongside Ponyboy and Team Dresch guitarist Kaia Wilson. Its silhouetted imagery draws on queer historical references, matching a song the group say is about “chosen families, interconnection, and the networks that have always sustained one another.” Team Dresch formed in Portland, Oregon in 1993, when Donna Dresch, Kaia Wilson, Jody Bleyle, and drummer Marcéo Martinez began turning basement practices into a lifeline for queer punks without representation. Their debut Personal Best (1995) was recently named one of the greatest punk albums of all time by Rolling Stone; its 1996 follow-up Captain My Captain introduced drummer Melissa York, now a five-piece with both Martinez and York behind the kit. Furthermore arrives on 18 September via Jealous Butcher, marking a full three decades since that second LP. The band will bring the new material to the UK for a single date at London’s Downstairs at The Dome on 30 September, part of a European run that also takes in Swiss and German shows.
