The great pop duo Tears For Fears have had a bumpy, interesting history, and they've got a discography that never seems to stop percolating through popular culture. Now, one half of the duo will tell his story in a new memoir. Roland Orzabal, whose name is fun to say, is the Tears For Fears member who kept the group going as a solo project in the years after his partner Curt Smith quit the band, and he's getting ready to publish an autobiography called Welcome To Your Life.
Good title, right? Obvious. The second that you read it, you get "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" stuck in your head. If you're a member of Tears For Fears and you don't use that as your book title, you messed up. Curt Smith must be upset that he didn't get to it first. If he ever writes his own book, he'll have to settle for calling it I Find It Kinda Funny, I Find It Kinda Sad or something.
Today, Orzabal announced Welcome To Your Life: Love, Death, And Tears For Fears on social media. The book apparently builds its story structure on Orzabal's lifelong passion for astrology, but maybe it'll be a fun read anyway. It's out 8/4 via Little Brown.
