Teenager dies following medical episode at Kendal Calling Festival

A teenage girl died at Kendal Calling festival in the early hours of Sunday morning (August 2) , police have said. Cumbria Police have said the 17-year-old suffered a medical episode at around 2.00am on Sunday and was pronounced dead at the scene, despite interventions from emergency responders. In a news update shared online, they added that officers were looking into the circumstances and wanted to speak to anyone who was in the area of the Calling Out tent and the Big Wheel around the time of the girl’s death. A spokesperson said: “Officers are particularly keen to speak with a group of women who alerted first responders to the girl after becoming concerned for her welfare.” They said the girl’s family had been informed and were being supported by specialist officers.
