NYC rockers The Men have announced a new album for 2025. Set for release on February 28th, Buyer Beware follows 2023’s New York City. The announcement was accompanied with the release of “Pony,” a fierce garage-punk offering. Stream it below.
“This one picked up the name ‘Pony’ because it felt a little sugary and sweet,” the band’s Mark Perro said of the song. “It was one of those things that just came out when we talked about the song and it stuck. I’m really happy with the fuzz tones we got on here, and the harmony vocals from Nick [Chiericozzi] and Jess [Poplawski] take this to another level.”
Buyer Beware will mark the 15th full-length release from the high-producing band, and their fifth with producer Travis Harrison behind the boards. According to a statement, Buyer Beware is less of an existential crisis and more of a rallying cry or call to arms; the album contains “both the personal and the political” in terms of its lyrical journey.
The record also marks the band’s fourth release with London-based independent record label Fuzz Club. They’re teasing the project as their “most aggressive” since their 2011 effort, Leave Home.
To celebrate the new LP, The Men will be hosting an album release party on March 1st at NYC’s TV Eye. Stay tuned for ticket details via the venue’s website.
