The Smiths, Mazzy Star, The Sundays and more to feature in Rough Trade singles boxset

The nine-disc collection features repressings of hallmark seven-inch singles from the 1980s to the early 1990s, marking the period when Rough Trade Records came of age. Handpicked by Rough Trade's co-MDs Jeannette Lee and Geoff Travis, the set includes The Fall's "Totally Wired" (1980), Scritti Politti's "The Sweetest Girl", Robert Wyatt's "Shipbuilding", Aztec Camera's "Oblivious", The Go-Betweens' "Cattle & Cane", Jonathan Richman's "That Summer Feeling" and The Sundays' "Can't Be Sure", all repressed with their original b-sides. Mazzy Star's cover of Love's "Five String Serenade" – originally released on Rough Trade's singles club in 1993 – appears with a switched b-side at Lee and Travis' request: David Roback and Hope Sandoval's version of Slap Happy's "Blue Flower" for a unique "covers release". The set also includes a new Smiths single created at the request of Morrissey and Marr. Even though the tracks it was released in the Netherlands, "The Headmaster Ritual" had never been an official Rough Trade single until now.
