The Weekly Injection: New Releases From LINKIN PARK, POPPY & More Out This Week 11/15

This week's new heavy metal releases include a couple divisive records, an unnerving collaboration, and more! To the metals…

Full Of Hell + Andrew Nolan – Scraping The Divine

New Releases From LINKIN PARK, POPPY & More Out This Week 11/15

Genre: Noise/experimental hardcore?
Origin: Ocean City, Maryland/Toronto, Ontario
Label: Closed Casket

First up, some noisy aggression. This is a hard one to nail down. It sounds like you're stuck in a computer being ravaged by a demonic virus sometimes, and a straight ahead hardcore record others. In addition to our collaborators you're also getting guest spots from Justin Broadrick (Godflesh), Intensive Care, and more.

Linkin Park – From Zero

New Releases From LINKIN PARK, POPPY & More Out This Week 11/15

Genre: Nu metal/alternative rock
Origin: Agoura Hills, California
Label: Warner

Buy now on Amazon

Linkin Park has returned in a new form. This is their first with new vocalist Emily Armstrong and overall it seems like what one might expect from Linkin Park at this point. The band that put out One More Light is still there, but there feels like there are deliberate nods to Meteora as well.

Mammoth Grinder – Undying Spectral Resonance

New Releases From LINKIN PARK, POPPY & More Out This Week 11/15

Genre: Death metal/hardcore
Origin: Austin, Texas
Label: Relapse

Buy now on Bandcamp

It's been five years since Mammoth Grinder put out any music, and it's great to have them back with this five track EP. You're getting their usual hardcore death metal hybrid performed in an echo-abyss. Half the band is new, but it still feels right.

Mugger – Luck Forever

New Releases From LINKIN PARK, POPPY & More Out This Week 11/15

Genre: Hardcore
Origin: Austin, Texas
Label: Quiet Panic Records

Buy now on Bandcamp

Luck Forever is a pretty straight forward hardcore record, but it's weirdly a lot of fun. The songs are brief, action packed, and catchy without sacrificing grit and rage. Would recommend for fans of Filth Is Eternal.

Poppy – Negative Spaces

New Releases From LINKIN PARK, POPPY & More Out This Week 11/15

Genre: Metalcore/modern metal
Origin: Boston, Massachusetts
Label: Sumerian

Stream/but here

Speaking of catchy, here's the new Poppy. As always, she's hitting you with massive choruses, djent-y grooves, and the perfect blend of modern metal and pop. It seems like a hard one to be mad at, but I'm some of you will find a way.

Thy Catafalque – XII: A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek

New Releases From LINKIN PARK, POPPY & More Out This Week 11/15

Genre: Avant-garde metal
Origin: Makó, Hungary
Label: Season Of Mist

Buy now on Bandcamp

Going to conclude this week with the shape-shifting Thy Catafalque. After just over a year since his last record Tamás Kátai is already back with another record. This time it's sometimes folk, sometimes blackened, sometimes disco-inspired metal. There's a lot more to it than that. So if something doesn't grab you, wait a couple minutes and give TC a chance to morph.
