Tomorrowland Reigns Supreme as World’s No. 1 Festival in DJ Mag Top 100 Poll

1 week ago 21

Tomorrowland has been named as the world’s number one festival in this year’s DJ Mag’s Top 100 Festivals poll. EDC Las Vegas, Ultra Music Festival, Untold, and Defqon.1 among the top five.

Aside from its editorial efforts, DJ Mag has become known for its annual polls that rank top artists, nightclubs, and festivals within the scene. The Top 100 Festivals poll is one of the outlet’s newest, first appearing in 2019 before taking a hiatus due to the pandemic, then returning in 2022. And after a countdown across its social media channels, this year’s list has now officially been named.

Sitting atop the DJ Mag Top 100 Festivals list as a non-mover in this year’s poll is Tomorrowland. The annual two-weekend festival in Belgium has been a perennial force on the list, claiming the top spot for a record sixth time, just ahead of its upcoming editions this month. Tomorrowland is renowned for consistently delivering immersive experiences for attendees while boasting a lineup that any dance music aficionado can fall in love with.

“Being voted the world’s No. 1 festival for a sixth consecutive year is an incredible honor and something we deeply appreciate,” said Tomorrowland founders Michiel and Manu Beers. “This recognition belongs to the entire Tomorrowland family: our visitors, artists, partners, suppliers, and the thousands of people who work passionately behind the scenes throughout the year.” They also said that their sixth win is “inspiring” and will motivate them to keep pushing to innovate and create magical experiences for their attendees.

While Tomorrowland was a non-mover, the upper portion of the rest of the list saw plenty of movement. Insomniac‘s flagship experience, EDC Las Vegas, moved up two spots to become the second-ranked festival on the planet. EDCLV flipped with Ultra Music Festival, which slipped two spots in this year’s poll, with Romania’s Untold Festival sitting in between the two in third place.

Rounding out the top ten is Defqon.1, Sunburn Festival, Creamfields, Kappa FuturFestival, Glastonbury, and Parookaville. Other notable festivals from around the globe on the list are Coachella (#12), Burning Man (#31), S2O Songkran Music Festival (#32), Movement Detroit (#35), Bonnaroo (#51), CRSSD Festival (#52), Lollapalooza (#61), Groove Cruise (#69), and Verknipt Festival (#99).

Southern California powerhouse brand Insomniac saw success with multiple entries on the list. This included EDC Orlando at #16, EDC Mexico at #45, HARD Summer at #56, EDC Thailand at #81, and Beyond Wonderland SoCal at #85, which re-entered the list after dropping out last year. Additionally, III Points entered the list for the first time at #99, and other festivals associated with the brand’s global presence, such as AMF, Time Warp, and Sonus, all saw some love.

Ultra Worldwide had quite a showing in this year’s poll as well. Beyond the brand’s main festival being ranked fourth, Ultra Europe clocked in at #47, while Ultra Japan (#59), Ultra Korea (#70), Ultra Taiwan (#74), Ultra Buenos Aires (#82), Ultra Australia (#86), and Ultra South Africa (#95), all received praise.
