Treblo Appears To Confirm Fenix Flexin’s “Rubberz” Is The First AI-Generated Hot 100 Hit

For months, controversy has been swirling around "Rubberz," a genuinely terrible synthpop pastiche with faux-Morrissey vocals that somehow became a breakout hit for LA rapper Fenix Flexin, a longtime member of Shoreline Mafia. Before the song was officially released, some listeners were already raising questions about whether it was AI-generated based on advance snippets Fenix shared, a theory Fenix and producer Purps On The Beat vehemently denied. Over the past couple months, "Rubberz" has remained wildly popular, even rising to #58 on the Billboard Hot 100, as evidence mounts that the song was mainly the result of AI prompts.Last week the hip-hop producer Medasin posted a detailed breakdown alleging that "Rubberz" was "fully" AI-generated using a program called Treblo, formerly known as Sonauto AI.
