TXT member Beomgyu has spoken up about being unable to perform during the band’s recent Tokyo Domes concert due to an injury.

In July, TXT played two nights at the Tokyo Dome as part of the Japanese leg of their ‘Act: Promise’ world tour. However, member Beomgyu was unable to perform with the rest of his bandmates after suffering a sprained ligament in his ankle at the time, per Koreaboo.

As a result, Beomgyu and leader Soobin broke down in tears during the concert. In a recent interview with Weverse Magazine, Beomgyu told the outlet that the experience was “really hard for me mentally”.

“That was right when I was deep into my work. We had this great schedule lined up, and as things started to fall apart, it felt like my mental state fell apart with it,” he recalled. “When we were at the Tokyo Dome, I thought, We’re at this place with this huge audience and I can’t even perform? It killed me.”

At the same time, Beomgyu said that the experience also gave him an opportunity to view the group from a different perspective. “The place was packed, and hearing them cheer, I was like, I’m doing something really amazing—I’m working with some really amazing people. I found it really motivating,” he said.

“I thought, I don’t even care if my foot gets more broken – I just wanna be onstage. I took performing onstage for granted, but as soon as I wasn’t able to, I realised just how much love I have for it,” Beomgyu added.

TXT – completed by Yeonjun, Taehyun and Huening Kai – returned with their seventh mini-album ‘The Star Chapter: Sanctuary’ on November 4, led by title track ‘Over The Moon’. It marked their second release of the year, after ‘minisode 3: Tomorrow’ in April.
