U2 Honored as 2027 MusiCares Persons of the Year

MusiCares, the charity supporting the health and wellbeing of the music community, has named U2 as the 2027 MusiCares Persons of the Year. The charity has selected U2’s Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. due to the band’s longstanding commitment to supporting a wide range of causes, including global health, disaster response, addiction recovery, mental health and access to music education. The band will be honored at the 36th annual Persons of the Year benefit gala on Friday, February 5th, 2027 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, which coincides with Grammy Weekend. As is customry with the gala, a star-studded concert will take place celebrating the honorees’ discography, with the performers set to be revealed at a later date.
