A previously unreleased Van Halen demo “Glitter” from 1974 will be packaged with the upcoming anthology book Van Halen, marking the earliest recording by the legendary band to ever be released. Per a press release, “Featuring Alex Van Halen and Eddie Van Halen alongside David Lee Roth and original bassist Mark Stone, ‘Glitter’ captures Van Halen at the very beginning of their story. Released here for the first time, it will mark the earliest Van Halen recording ever to be officially released.” The 7-inch picture disc will also feature select spoken-word recordings by Alex Van Halen from his interviews he conducted for the creation of the anthology book, which is set to be released in November via Genesis Publications. While the song was recorded in 1974, the artwork is taken from Van Halen’s 1984 tour.
