Eminem has announced he is set to become a “grandpa” after his daughter Hailie Jade confirmed she is pregnant.

The rapper shared the news in a music video for his song ‘Temporary’, which is dedicated to his daughter and includes audio of her as a baby.

The clip, which you can view below, features a montage of clips of the pair during their lives – including a moment when she presents her father with a blue jumper with “Grandpa 1” written on the back.

Jade, who is the only biological daughter of Eminem with his ex-wife Kim Scott, then hands him what appears to be a picture of an ultrasound scan which the rapper appears visibly surprised by before showing it to the camera.

Jade later confirmed her pregnancy with her husband Evan McClintock in an Instagram post which read: “mom & dad est. 2025.”

The couple, who have been dating since 2016, got married back in May.

Jade previously said she “audibly sobbed” listening to the rapper’s new album ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)’.

Pointing to the music video for ‘Somebody Save Me’, which is set in an alternate reality where Eminem, who is now 16 years sober, never recovered from his addiction, she said at the time: “Speaking of things I watched this past week, which I guess I’ll say watched, but I refused to watch again – the ‘Somebody Save Me’ music video is out and I did watch the thing. I don’t think I can do it again. I definitely cry every time I hear it at all.”

Jade also spoke about ‘Temporary’ adding: “Between [‘Somebody Save Me’] and ‘Temporary’, OK, well, that I listened to and it broke me. I audibly sobbed I think for both songs, but especially ‘Temporary’.”

She continued: “Watching the video back and listening to the songs, I feel like my parents did such a good job. Growing up, where I didn’t realise how bad things were, but now as an adult, in hindsight, it’s so scary to think about. I think that’s why I get emotional so much, just thinking that that could have happened.”

Jade concluded by adding: “The older I get, the less I can listen to any of the songs.”

In a three-star review of ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)’, NME wrote: “Much more powerful is ‘Temporary’, a genuinely moving ode to his daughter, Hailie, which proves Marshall Mathers can say something that matters when he wants to.

“So, who killed Slim Shady? In bringing him back to the light and showing him up as irrelevant, perhaps Eminem’s done his old pal in for good. OK, we get it – Shady was a shocking character. Now that he’s dead, how about getting some new material?”

Last month, a deluxe version of his latest album was released along with two new songs.
