The song – originally released back in February – is very close to its creator's heart. "I've been sober for almost ten years now," Racette tells Best Fit, "and it inspires me every day. I have written a few songs about sobriety, kind of like how some people write a lot of songs about drinking.
"The song is about those moments when being sober feels really tough like when you're out with friends, holding onto a Diet Coke with lime, trying to smile through it even when it's hard. It captures those times when you're feeling everything so intensely, wishing you could just numb it all out."
Up next for Racette is a tour of Western Canada across the first half of Novemeber, and she'll be back over in Europe next Spring too.
