Wallace & Gromit are set to make their long-awaited return in a new film.
A teaser trailer for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, the first in the series since 2008, has now been shared online – you can watch it below.
An official synopsis of the forthcoming Aardman Animations film reads: “After a recent crime wave of stolen garden goods from across the region, Wallace and his pre-programmed smart gnome, Norbot, are the main suspects. While Wallace proclaims his innocence, it’s up to Gromit once again to battle sinister forces, or Wallace will never invent again!
“But who could possibly be behind such evil actions?! Rightfully behind bars for all this time, Feathers McGraw is back with vengeance.”
McGraw was last seen in 1993’s BAFTA and Academy Award-winning Wallace And Gromit short film The Wrong Trousers.
Ben Whitehead will star as Wallace following the death of the character’s original voice actor Peter Sallis in 2017.
Peter Kay returns as chief inspector Macintosh alongside Lauren Patel (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Lloyd Of The Flies) while the new film also features cameos from Diane Morgan, who starred in Afterlife, Bridgerton‘s Adjoa Andoh, Muzz Khan (Brassic, Galavant) and Lenny Henry.
It will premiere on BBC iPlayer and BBC One this Christmas Day (December 25) in the UK, and will be available globally on Netflix on January 3, 2025.
Earlier this year, a King Charles portrait was vandalised by two animal rights activists in London and defaced with a giant Wallace head from Wallace & Gromit.
Meanwhile, the creators of Wallace & Gromit previously denied that the upcoming film featuring the duo will be the last due to a shortage of their unique brand of clay.
“We are touched about recent concern over the future of our beloved clay creations, but wanted to reassure fans that there is absolutely no need to worry,” read a statement posted on social media at the time.
