Ween Announce Boognish Provides, 14-CD Box Set Of Previously Unreleased Chocolate And Cheese Tour Shows

Ween are opening the vaults with Boognish Provides, a new collection of seven previously unreleased concerts from their 1994-95 Chocolate And Cheese tour. Arriving next month via Rhino, the 14-CD box set and condensed 2-LP edition capture the band at a pivotal moment, shortly after they began touring with a full backing band featuring bassist Andrew Weiss and drummer Claude Coleman.The collection spans performances at McCabe’s Guitar Shop in Santa Monica, the Metro in Chicago, First Avenue in Minneapolis, the 40 Watt Club in Athens, Hof Ter Lo in Antwerp, the Fox Theatre in Boulder, and Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia. The shows feature 12 of the 16 tracks from Chocolate And Cheese, alongside songs from GodWeenSatan, The Pod, and Pure Guava, as well as early versions of material that would appear on later albums.One highlight is a 24-minute version of “Vallejo” recorded at Athens’ 40 Watt Club in February 1995. Tour engineer Kirk Miller recalls: “From the start, the band and crowd were hyped, and the show ended with Mickey diving over the drum kit into Claude, and the two of them rolling down the couple of stairs into the dressing room, locking the door behind them.”Ween have als...
