Ween Announce Live Boxset, Boognish Provides, From 1990s Chocolate and Cheese Tour

Ween have announced a live boxset, Boognish Provides, containing unreleased concert recordings from the tour to support their 1994 album Chocolate and Cheese. As a preview of the collection, Ween released the 24-minute live recording of “Vallejo” captured in February 1995 at The 40 Watt in Athens, Georgia. Stream it below. Boognish Provides comes out October 16th via Rhino Records. Two editions will be released. The most expansive edition, a 14xCD boxset, features their complete set from seven concerts that the band played from October 1994 to June 1996. A 2xLP will also be put out, which will include 19 tracks from the seven concerts. The live recordings captured Ween in transition. Chocolate and Cheese marked a turning point for Ween, as Aaron “Gene Ween” Freeman and Michael “Dean Ween” Melchiondo moved from recording at home on a four-track to a professional studio environment. The band also moved beyond playing as a duo and toured with a full band for the first time.
