Euphoria is finally back on our screens for season three, but what has happened to Angus Cloud’s character Fezco? Find out below.
Sam Levinson’s teen drama has been away for four years, but the opening episode of the new season landed on HBO Max on Sunday night (April 12).
The show follows the lives of a group of friends in the fictional town of East Highland, California, and the third season catches up with them after a five-year gap as adults, wrestling with faith, redemption and addiction.
Several of the show’s lead actors have gone on to be major stars, but they are all back for the new run – Zendaya as Rue Bennett, Jacob Elordi as Nate Jacobs, Sydney Sweeney as Cassie Howard, Hunter Schafer as Jules Vaughn and Maude Apatow as Lexi Howard.

Episodes in season three are now airing weekly on HBO Max on Sundays, with the season finale of episode eight set to premiere on May 31.
One actor who has not returned for season three is Barbie Ferreira, who recently said it “wasn’t worth” coming back to her role of Kat Hernandez, as the character was “kind of diminishing as time went on”.
Labrinth has also not returned as the show’s composer, which he himself revealed last month. Explaining the rift, he recently said that “when I work for someone, their vision is paramount to me. But I don’t let people treat me like shit.”
Zendaya has also hinted during an interview that this season may be the last, which has been heavily rumoured for some time.
Speaking about her experience on the show in general, she said she was “proud” of what she achieved and that the series. “Rue taught me so much about life,” she explained. “That crew has also seen me grow up. I owe so much to that show. Rue taught me so much about empathy and redemption. I’m very grateful for all of it.”
What happened to Angus Cloud’s Fezco in Euphoria season three?
One major question going into the return of Euphoria was how the show was going to handle Cloud’s character Fezco.
In September 2023, the actor tragically passed away from an accidental drug overdose at the age of 25, and his co-stars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Javon Walton and Colman Domingo all gave an emotional tribute to their friend and colleague.
The opening episode of season three also concluded with an In Memoriam screen honouring Cloud, as well as Eric Dane and executive producer Kevin Turen, who both also died since the show was on the air.
In terms of the Fezco character, episode one revealed that the character is still alive. Fezco, it transpires, survived the season two finale and was arrested after the police raid. He is now serving a 30-year prison sentence, with his brother Ashtray having been killed.
Speaking about the decision to keep Fezco alive, Levinson recently told The Hollywood Reporter: “I couldn’t keep him alive in real life but I could keep his character alive in the show. I kept him alive and the character has got a great arc. I think he’d be very proud of it.”
