It has been five years since Call of Duty: Warzone graced our screens in 2020 right before everyone got locked in their homes. It was an incredible time and to this day the original map is still remembered fondly. That is why it is coming back.
With Warzone’s fifth anniversary in early March, it could be a time to celebrate the game by bringing back the original map. Here is what we know so far.
Verdansk is confirmed to be returning in 2025 to Warzone, but we don’t know when exactly. However, the fifth anniversary of Warzone is on March 10, 2025, which would be around when the Season 2 Reloaded update looks likely to launch. So, it could be included with Season 2’s roadmap when that is revealed in January.
If we were betting, seeing the classic map sometime in March 2025 seems like a safe bet to make. Hopefully we should get a firm release window or date early in 2025, when more details were originally promised.
Back during COD Next in August 2024, Activision announced the return of Verdansk as a final reveal during the Warzone section of the stream and fans have been clawing for any information since then.
Unfortunately, details have remained light during Black Ops 6‘s initial launch and during Season 1, so we don’t have any idea of how the map will look or if there are any major changes Activision may introduce. The map could also be coming back in its untouched original form, which would make many players happy. This seems like the most likely scenario, as we have seen many other live-service games reverse back to their original form for a mode or Season.
Although, new weapons and omnimovement will likely be usable on the map.
